A Chapter 11 “Reorganization” is, or can be, an extremely complex undertaking and is typically used to reorganize a business, which may be a corporation, sole proprietorship, or partnership. A Chapter 11 is normally only used in the context of a consumer matter, where the amount of debt owed by the debtor, exceeds the statutory limits of a Chapter 13 matter.

The filing of a Chapter 11 case triggers signifcant and sometime onerous monthly reporting requirements. Due to the flexibility of the Chapter 11 process it is difficult to explain in a few words on in these pages the substance of a Chapter 11 matter.
